Professor Dimitris Drikakis is the Vice President of Global Partnerships at the University of Nicosia (November 2018). Prior to that, he was Executive Dean (Engineering) and Executive Director of Global Partnerships at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow; Head of the Institute of Aerospace Sciences at Cranfield University; Professor at the Queen Mary University of London, as well as held academic appointments at the University of Manchester, and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. Hans Fecht is Chaired Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Ulm, Germany, and Director of the “Institute of Micro and Nano-materials". He received his PhD at the University of Saarbrücken in 1984 and became professor at the University of Augsburg after postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the California Institute of Technology, USA. In 1993 he was appointed Full Professor at the Technical University Berlin and in 1997 at University of Ulm. He directs a group of about 30 academics, students, technicians and visitors. He has published more than 450 scientific papers, coordinated numerous national, European and international research projects and (co)organized a number of international workshops, symposia and conferences. Hans Fecht was awarded with the Leibniz Prize of the German Research Foundation (DFG), "Pioneer of Nanotechnology" (Deutsche Bank), the Innovation Award of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and is member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. In addition, he is the office director of the EUREKA Cluster Metallurgy Europe.
Prof. Fecht directs a group of about 30 graduate students, PhD students and Post-Docs in the field. Dr. Farid Menaa is an inter- and multi-disciplinary professional with worldwide reputation. Dr Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received PhD- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey in Solid State Physics with experimental studies on diffusionless phase transformations in Ti-Ta alloys in 1980. He has studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and He studied on shape memory alloys. He worked as research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University, Diyarbakir, Turkey. He moved to Firat University in 1980, and became professor in 1996, and He has already been working as professor. He published over 50 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 80 conferences and symposia in international and national level as participant, invited speaker or keynote speaker with contributions of oral or poster. He served the program chair or conference chair/co-chair in some of these activities. In particular, he joined in last three years (2014 - 2016) over 20 conferences as Keynote Speaker and Conference Co-Chair organized by different companies. George Palasantzas was born in Amfikleia (Greece) and studied Physics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece from 1984-1988. He obtained Fulbright fellowship and completed his MSc at Northeastern University in USA from 1989-1991, and subsequently his PhD with a Prof. J. Krim from 1991-1994. From 1994-1996 he did obligatory military service in Greece, and after PostDoc at TUDelft from 1996-1998 in the NEXT Laboratory (Nanophysics). From 1998-2000 he was PostDoc for NIMR/Groningen. From 2001-2014 worked as University Lecturer at the University of Groningen. From 2010-2013 he was the chairman of the ESF RNP CASIMIR. From 2014-present he was promoted to Professor in Physics. His current research interests are in Nanoscale roughness, Casimir effect and surface interactions, and Nanoparticle Physics (Energy storage, wetting, solar cells). He teaches Mathematical Physics (1 year) and Electronics (2 and 3 years).

Alexander Seifalian, Professor of Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine worked at the Royal Free Hospital and University College London for over 26 years, during this time he spent a period of time at Harvard Medical School looking at caused of cardiovascular diseases and a year at Johns Hopkins Medical School looking at treatment of liver. He published more than 647 peer-reviewed research papers, and registered 14 UK and International patents. He is currently CEO of NanoRegMed Ltd, working on the commercialisation of his research. During his career Prof Seifalian has led and managed many large projects with successful outcomes in terms of commercialisation and translation to patients. In 2007 he was awarded the top prize in the field for the development of nanomaterials and technologies for cardiovascular implants by Medical Future Innovation, and in 2009 he received a Business Innovation Award from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). He was the European Life Science Awards’ Winner of Most Innovative New Product 2012 for the “synthetic trachea”. Prof Seifalian won the Nanosmat Prize in 2013 and in 2016 he received the Distinguish Research Award in recognition of his outstanding work in regenerative medicine from Heals Healthy Life Extension Society. His achievements include development of the world first synthetic trachea, lacrimal drainage conduit, and vascular bypass graft using nanocomposite materials, bioactive molecules and stem cell technology. He has over 15,000 media report from his achievement, include BBC, ITV, WSJ, CNN, and many more. Currently he is working on development and commercialisation of human organs using graphene based nanocomposite materials and stem cells technology.
DR. ALAIN L. FYMAT, PhD, PhD is a medical-physical scientist and an educator. He is the current President/CEO and Professor at the International Institute of Medicine & Science with a previous appointment as EVP/COO and Professor at the Weil Institute of Critical Care Medicine, California, U.S.A. He was formerly Professor of Radiology, Radiological Sciences, Radiation Oncology, Critical Care Medicine and Physics at several U.S. and European Universities. Earlier, he was Deputy Director (Western Region) of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Office of Research Oversight). At the Loma Linda Veterans Affairs Medical Center, he was Scientific Director of Radiology, Director of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center and, for a time, Acting Chair of Radiology. Previously, he was also Director of the Division of Biomedical and Biobehavioral Research at the University of California at Los Angeles/Drew University of Medicine and Science. He is also Health Advisor to the American Heart & Stroke Association, Coachella Valley Division, California. He is a frequent Keynote Speaker and International Organizing Committee member at several international scientific conferences. He has lectured extensively in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa. He has published ~ 425 scholarly scientific publications and books. He is also Editor-in-Chief, Honorable Editor or Editor of 54 scientific Journals. Dr. Fymat is a Board member of several institutions, a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and a reviewer for the prestigious UNESCO Newton Prize, United Kingdom National Commission for UNESCO.
Dr. Fymat’s current research interests lie at the interface between science and medicine, particularly cancer/oncology, molecular/personal/precision medicine, nanomedicine, human genetics/ epigenetics/ ecogenetics, neurodegenerative diseases, and pharmacogenomics. His most recent publications deal with nanotechnology and cancer, nanochemotherapy, nanoneurology, natural and synthetic immunotherapy, drug delivery across the brain protective barriers, and neurodegenerative disorders (epilepsy, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases).
Henry M. Sobell completed his studies at Brooklyn Technical High School (19481952), Columbia College (1952-1956), and the University of Virginia School of Medicine (1956-1960). Instead of practicing clinical medicine, he then went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to join Professor Alexander Rich in the Department of Biology (1960-1965), where, as a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow, he learned the technique of single crystal X-ray analysis. He then joined the Chemistry Department at the University of Rochester, having been subsequently jointly appointed to both the Chemistry and Molecular Biophysics departments (the latter at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry), becoming a full tenured Professor in both departments (1965-1993). He is now retired and living in the Adirondacks in New York, USA.

Mirela Olympia Fagarasan Palmer works in academia as an internationally recognized neuropharmacology and neuroimmunology researcher. She published more than 500 scientific reports in the field of neuropsychopharmacology and signal transduction. Prof. Ille C. Gebeshuber is a University Professor of Physics from Austria, Europe. She is expert in Nanotechnology, Biomimetics and Tribology. She was born on April 10, 1969, in the small city Kindberg. On the schoolbus, when she wrote a message on the window to a friend who was outside, she discovered that - a natural lefthander - she can write in mirror. She uses this ability to stimulate the right side of her brain and thereby her creativity and cross-border thinking. This has had major influence on her scholarly development and achievements - unlike most other physicists and engineers her approach to science is wide and holistic, and inherently trans- and interdisciplinary, bridging over to biology, the arts and the social sciences. 2017 she was elected 'Austrian of the Year' in the category 'Research'. From 2008 untill 2015 she was living and working in Malaysia, since 2016 she is back at her home institution, the Vienna University of Technology. Prof. Ille is associate editor of the IMechE Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science (SAGE Publishing, London, UK), editorial board member of various scientific journals, author of two books on biomimetics and nanotechnology and editor of a book on biomimetics by Springer Scientific Publishing. Since 2011 she has been scientific advisory board member regarding nanotechnology for the Lifeboat Foundation, a US American think tank safeguarding humanity. Prof. Magdy Y. Abdelaal was born in 1959 and obtained his PhD in 1991 from Mansoura University, Egypt in collaboration with FU-Berlin, Germany. He is a Professor of Polymer Chemistry at Mansoura University, Egypt. Meanwhile he was a Professor of Polymer Chemistry at KAU, Saudi Arabia on sabbatical between 2004 and 2016. He is the Head of the Organic Chemistry Division; Director of the "Research and Development of Plastic and Rubber Industry Unit", Mansoura University, 2016; and Steering Committee Member of the Support Center for Small and Medium Industries, Mansoura University. He was a visiting professor at KAUST-Cornell Center for Energy and Sustainability, Cornell University, NY, USA for two months in 2015. Besides, he has cross-cooperation with many institutions such as LNF/INFN, Italy; NIMC and Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan and most institutions in Egypt. His research is on both the fundamentals and industrial applications in the cross- disciplinary field of precision manufacturing, nanotechnology and biomedical manufacturing.
